The President’s Message

by Stephan Anthony, CORE Chair

Happy Holidays to everyone!  Whatever one chooses to celebrate this time of year, there is no denying that this month more than any other allows for the expression of cheer and goodwill to all humankind.

I write this article with a kind of good news/bad news feeling.  Although I know that in God it is all good, I’ll start with what at first felt bad.  As most reading this know, at our community’s annual business meeting in 2007, the membership voted unanimously to sell the building we are in and move forward.  Well, it has been a long and interesting process, but as of December 1st of this year we were scheduled to close with the buyers we had been in contract with.  “Unfortunately” they were unable to meet the terms of the contract and backed out.  So, once again, the building is on the market.  The Core Council had planned on this sale going through and made arrangements for moving forward.  So...now we find ourselves in that transition phase, where we are allowing our intuition to guide us.  Elsewhere in this newsletter you will read about our plans for December and a few special events we have going on.

Now the “good news.”  Like we have through this entire process, we continue to open to Spirit’s Vision for our community and continue to have faith that we will be supported fully.  I found that in this experience it was very easy to turn away from the momentary fear and worry and embrace a true knowing that we are divinely guided.

It is absolutely important to me, as the Core Chair, that as we go forward that the Core Council continue to be in communication with our membership and those that love and support us.

This past year has been a continuous opportunity to choose faith and trust - in my personal life and in my leadership position in this spiritual center.  What I know to be true is that our center is not made by the walls and things around us.  It is made by the hearts and spirits of each of us that call the Global Heart Spiritual Center home.  The “home” is not the place that we gather but rather the spirit in which we gather and the love that we build.  Whether we are together at 1622 Glenwood Avenue on a Sunday morning, or in someone’s home, or whether individuals are in such vast places as Costa Rica, or Minnesota, or California, the Global Heart is the shared heart that exists within all of us.  And it is that which we will continue to cultivate and celebrate.

Peace and Blessings to you all
